Overview:

BlueSky Global Ministries’ vision is to see the multinational community of Nairobi, Kenya, spiritually transformed and equipped to influence the world for God’s glory. We pursue this by building relationships through adventure, using three core platforms: BlueSky Adventures, Camp BlueSky, and BlueSky Community. The Support Services Managing Director is a leadership role providing strategic oversight to the organization’s Support Services team and operational management. Provides leadership and oversight to the Support Services staff, develops a high-performance team culture, and drives the strategic growth of our staff and operational services. The Managing Director will have the responsibility of providing developmental opportunities for the Support Services team by investing in the growth of their character, competency, and chemistry while discerning their calling. The Managing Director will also serve as a member of the BlueSky Kenya Leadership Team.


Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Leadership Team in the development and management of the Support Services budget

  • Developing and accomplish both short-term and long-term goals that improve our ability to accomplish our Vision and Mission

  • Develops relationships with other department leaders to plan and implement collaborative ministry efforts 

  • Supervises, coaches, disciples, and provides opportunities for the ongoing development of all direct reports

  • Leads in staff functions and events (e.g. staff retreat, holiday events, staff meetings, resource training, etc.)

  • Engages in ongoing personal and professional development; keep up-to-date on current research related to student, adult, marriage, and family ministries and discipleship

Qualifications:

  • Heart for the nations with proven spiritual leadership experience

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work related experience

  • 6 years of experience in operational management (e.g. managing facilities, resources, vehicles, HR functions, database management, etc.)

  • 6 years of experience leading people, processes, and resources

  • Excellent written communication skills 

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Refined interpersonal skills; highly relational, capable of connecting with others quickly, and able to work well individually and in a team environment

  • Ability to manage both small groups and large groups and provide leadership and direction to supporting personnel 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs and willing to learn web-based software, e-learning platforms, and mobile apps

Support Raising:

All BlueSky ministry staff raise full financial support to serve. Support amount will be determined based on individual need and family situation.
