Vision & Mission: BlueSky Global Ministries’ vision is to see the multinational community of Nairobi, Kenya, spiritually transformed and equipped to influence the world for God’s glory. We pursue this by building relationships through adventure, using three core platforms: BlueSky Adventures, Camp BlueSky, and BlueSky Community.


The BlueSky Community Director is a leadership role providing strategic direction to the organization’s year-round focused relational ministry programs for students, adults, marriages, and families. The Director will have the responsibility of vision-casting and driving growth for programs, while developing the Community team by investing in the growth of their character, competency, and chemistry. The Director will also serve as a member of the BlueSky Kenya Leadership Team.

Reports to: BlueSky Kenya Country Director


  • Develop and implement both short-term and long-term goals that improve our ability to pursue Vision and Mission

  • Collaborate with other department leaders to plan and implement ministry efforts across the organization

  • Member Care: Supervise, coach, disciple, and provide opportunities for the ongoing development of all direct reports

  • Lead in staff functions and events (e.g. staff retreat, holiday events, and staff meetings)

  • Engage in ongoing personal and professional development; stay up-to-date on current research related to student, adult, marriage, and family ministries and discipleship, including in a multicultural, international context

  • Personally participate in relational ministry with adults, families, and marriages in the multinational community

  • Work with Country Director to identify Community team growth needs and participate in vetting and onboarding of new staff

  • Create and manage annual Community program budget to ensure growth

  • Cultivate school, church, and ministry partnerships within Kenya and East Africa

  • Ensure all ministry efforts are carried out in a professional and safe manner

  • Provide oversight and support to the Apprenticeship program


  • Commitment to the BlueSky Vision: Purpose, Mission, and Core Values

  • Minimum five years work experience serving in a relevant field

  • Heart for the nations with proven spiritual leadership experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Seminary or Master’s degree in theology, missions, or related field a plus

  • Experience serving on and leading cross-cultural and diverse teams

  • Robust international exposure preferred, particularly residing and serving as part of a ministry team

  • Passion for member care, discipleship, and equipping of ministry workers 

  • Experience leading ministry working across multiple demographics in an urban setting

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management, and organization skills

  • Refined interpersonal skills; highly relational, capable of connecting with others quickly across ages and demographics, and able to work well individually and in a team environment

  • Proficiency in Microsoft and Google programs and willing to learn web-based software and mobile apps

  • Willing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya, and serve for a minimum of 4 years

Support Raising:

All BlueSky ministry staff raise full financial support to serve. Support amount will be determined based on individual situations and current cost of living and doing ministry in Kenya.
